No card today but I have question that I am hoping you can help me with. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past few months in the blogging world. I do feel sorry for Russ though as he has lost the chatty Sharon because I have always got my head stuck in computer.
As a way of thanking all you wonderful people for becoming a follower, I would like to give away some candy on my blog and wondered if you could tell me the best way to achieve this. Should I set up a linky device or a random generator and which one is the easiest.
When I reach 100 followers I am going to give away a LOTV gift certificate and more give always for every 50 after that. This is not a bribe to become a follower (although I would love it if you did) but a genuine thank you to each and every follower who spends their time giving such wonderful comments.
Bye for now

Hi Sharon
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how to do this but when you find out please could you let me know as I would like to do the same when I reach 100 followers.

I will certainly let you know when I figure out how to do it. Its probably one of those things that seems more difficult than it actually is.

Hi Sharon, it's up to you how you do it, I started with comments but used random org to choose and then kept losing count and I scrolled up and down the screen. I now use Mr Linky and random org combined. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your advice . I will have a go at installing it next week. Hopefully it will be one of those things that seems far more complicated than it is.

Hi Sharon, sorry I can't help you with your question. Just wanted to say what a kind and generous person you are to offer some candy to your followers.

Thanks Sue. I just want to show how much I appreciate followers taking time to comment when we all have busy lives.

Hi, Afraid I am in the dark about this.
ReplyDeleteI tried to give candy for my 100 followers, but no one could tell me how to do it.

Thank you any way. I think from the few comments that Mr linky with random generator seems to be the way to go.

Hello Sharon, I use Inlinkz or Mt Linky Tool to set up for candy, each follower can then leave a link and once the close date is reached use Random.org to pick a winner. If you need help on how to do this, just let me know. Hugs, Claire xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire. I will look into it and get back to you if I have problems. Hopefully it is one of those things that seems more difficult than it actually is.

Hi Sharon, When I did my 100 followers Candy I just used the comments and got random.org to pick my winner...it's really up to you how you want to do it, could just pick a name out of a hat lol..
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your blog, your creations are all so gorgeous.
Wendy xx
Thank you Wendy. I will look into it and let you know how I get on. Hopefully it is one of those things that seems more difficult than it is.

hi Sharon, I have given many things away on my blog, as a matter of fact I am having a giveaway now. I find it easiest to ask people to leave a comment and use random.org to draw the winner. I am strongly against making people become a follower before they can enter....I even state this on my blog. I hope this helps ya and congrats on the followers. Here is the link to my giveaway if you would like to enter...

enjoy *~*
I've found it easiest to use a link up tool and then use random.org to pick the winner(s). Saves from having to manually count the entries and having to double check to make sure people have only left one comment. Using inlinkz is super easy and provides an HTML code for you to put in the post.

I used inklinkz linky tool last time I had candy, is was very easy to set up and they will automatically notify the winner too if you require!

yeah Mr Linky is the way to go. Blogging does take over doesn't it :-)
