Sorry I have not been around f.or a while

Good morning blogger friends.

I would just like to let you all know that I may be absent from commenting for a while. 

Four years ago Russ (hubby) was taken into hospital with chest pains. When they did an ECG the Drs and nurses were running round in a blind panic. The specialist was called and after scans and an angiogram it was diagnosed that Russ had been born with a congenital abnormality. They discovered that he had no tubes on one side of his heart and his main artery was kinked like a hose pipe meaning that he could have dropped down dead at any point. Scary considering he had played football at least three times a week. 

He eventually was taken into hospital and had a heart bypass graft and Russ since, says he felt better than he had for years.

On Wednesday however, Russ was taken into hospital again with chest pains. We no from the blood tests that no damage has been done to his heart so if it was a heart attack it was in this instance only mild.  They are doing an angiogram today to  investigate further and hopefully get an answer to what caused the chest pains. Hence my mind has not been on crafting and although I love visiting your blogs, which I still am, have not been commenting.  We will hopefully get some answers today and we can both get back to normal.

A new Challenge over at Dream Valley

Good morning to you all crafty friends.

Today sees the start of a new Challenge over at Dream Valley. We are being sponsored by Freckled Fawn and the theme is buttons. They have over 300 Washi and Deco tapes - a fabulous embellishment for our crafty creations. Yesterday, we went to see our grand-daughter and I even had a hold of her. It was a wonderful feeling and she is doing so well to be able to be out her incubator for periods of time. I have a couple more photos for you at the end of my post.

 For this challenge I have used Tilda with Big Tulips. I love her.

I have coloured her with Distress Markers. I have been looking at the new Distress marker colours and I think I am going to have to buy them. Have any of you purchased them and are they fabulous.

I could not find a link for the Buttons but they are from the Gorjuss Girl collection. I got mine from the Range. All the other items I have used for this card are at the bottom of the post.

The ribbon and gems are from my stash.

The button in the middle of the white flower is also from The Range.

I have got such a busy day tomorrow. I think I may well be at work from 7am to 8pm as I have some make up stands, hair accessory stands and Beauty accessory stands to empty. I then have to go in Monday morning at 6am to put the stock back on some new fixtures as well as two new stands. I should be my day off but I dare say I will be there all day. Never mind - I will save the extra money from my wages for the NEC!!!

A new Challenge at Diva's by Design and and some wonderful news.

Good morning friends.

 

I am here to tell you of the new Challenge starting today over at Diva's by Design followed by some wonderful news which I will keep you in suspense about till I have told you of our challenge.

 

The challenge at Diva's is being sponsored by 2cuteink and the theme is CAS. They really do have some cute stamps and you can see some wonderful inspiration from our DT members at Diva's.

I have used Snowflake Owl - he is so cute.

 

 

I hope I haven't gone overboard with the embellies for a CAS card.

And now for my wonderful News.

I am now a Grandma.

Evie-Maie was born yesterday at 29 weeks weighing just 2lb 5oz. She is doing very well and breathing by herself. I can't wait to hold her.  I may be biased but she is absolutely gorgeous. Kayleigh (mum) is doing very well after having a caesarean. Congratulations Kayleigh and Ryan.
They needed to get her out quickly because she was getting distressed and so she is a little bruised.
She was trying so hard to suck her thumb but the band of material was obstructing any chance of this. I have only known her for a very short while but my heart is full of love for her.

Whilst I am in an extremely soppy mood - an update of our second baby. I think she has decided that she needs a whole sofa to herself.

A new Challenge at Besties.

Good morning to you.

 

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready to face a new week. Thank you for your comments regarding my question as to die cutting machines. I have not decided on one yet though I may write to Spellbinders to see if there is any way my GC can be repaired.

 

Today sees the start of an new challenge over at the Besties Challenge Blog. The theme for this weeks challenge is Wings. Please remember that you also have the option to enter the challenge without following the theme (we still ask you to use a Besties Image). This only means that you won't be able to win the Grand Prize of 5 digis.
We will also pick a runner up and the DT Favourite! The DT favourite will also have the  chance of being our Guest Designer.

Don't quite know what happened to the colour. It is not so green as it looks here.

 

 

The image has been coloured with Distress Markers. I would love to try the Distress Inks. Are they better to colour with?
