A new challenge at Diva's by Design.

Good morning Blogger friends.

Hope you are all well and have had a lovely Easter. I am back to work tomorrow after five days off, which has gone far too quickly.
Today sees a new challenge at Diva's by Design and the theme for this challenge is "Inspired by the Movies". Our sponsor this week is Crafty Ribbons - now who doesn't love ribbons.

I told of a new venture which I was starting this week. I have however made the decision to opt out. Although the rent was only £40 month I would have to sell an awful lot of cards before I could start to make a profit. I hope the other crafters though have success with it.

I have used an LOTV image today and the film inspiration is Babies Day Out.

Not a lot of colouring on this image but I have used Distress Markers.

The flowers are from WOC and Live and Love Crafts. A full listing with a link to the products will be at the bottom of the post.

The frame is made from Katie Sue Designs moulds using Martha Stewart air drying clay.

The pearls strands and the sparkly bead are from The Hobby House.

It is now 11pm and I need some beauty sleep as I only had 2hrs last night worrying about the venture that is no more. I will revisit this post tomorrow evening and add anything I have missed this evening.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Addicted to Stamps and More - Make your mark
Hiding in my Craftroom - Flowers
Just keep on Creating - Anything goes
Fan-Tastic Tuesdays - Anything Goes
That Craft Place - Anything goes/Easter
Crafty Hazelnut Challenge - Use patterned paper
Crafting by Design - April showers bring May flowers
Craft Galore Encore - Creating with colour (favourite colour - pink)
Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because

Keep well and I will see you all soon.

Hugs Sharon. x

I think you have made the right decision about your venture although people love handmade cards sometimes they are very reluctant to pay the true value. Just enjoy keep making your gorgeous cards. This is a gorgeous card Sharon, I love your sweet image and fabulous design as always.
I'm sorry you decided to opt out of your venture, it is a lot of money to make before you start to make a profit though isn't it.

Aww this is really sweet Sharon… such a beautiful image and I love the gorgeous papers and embellishments… so delicate and pretty!
Sorry that your venture didn't work out, although it sounds a lot of money to pay out before you've even started... you would have to sell a lot of cards to make a profit... and bet you wouldn't get back the cost of the card you made.... people just haven't got much money to spend at moment. And yet all the embellishments that we use on our cards cost quite a lot when you add them all up!
Take Care
Big hugs
Sue B xx

Lovely card Sharon, gorgeous detailing. I think you have made the right choice re the venture - £40.00 is alot of money per month if you don't sell any cards or not enough. Hugs, Claire x

A beautiful Christening card, such lovely details and design.
You're right to opt out of the 'venture' if it was already causing you stress! It takes all the pleasure out of creating if you feel under pressure! Just enjoy making your fabulous cards!

Really gorgeous card, Sharon! Love the pretty design, and all those fab embellished details. The image is too sweet and beautifully colored! :^)
Regarding the business: you have given yourself permission to reduce your stress level! Sometimes, business can be too taxing on our lives. If it is meant to be, you will find a way to do it later on. In the meantime, enjoy making your beautiful creations! :^)
Hugs, Penny

I am sorry to hear you lost sleep but I think you probably made the right decision. It was a lot up front and as you say, that is a lot of cards to sell. Your cards are always wonderful...and this one is no exception.
