Your having a Giraffe

Good afternoon friends. Hope you are all well.

I have missed you all and it is so good to be posting a card. This little cutie is one I made before Christmas bit didn't get round to posting. I know that I am turning a corner and feel ready to craft again because when I visit all your lovely blogs I am wanting to get into my craft room and do a spot of colouring.
Dad is still waiting for his operation and is still not able to eat but the doctor doesn't seem to concerned about that as long as he is drinking his high protein drinks. I am missing my parents so much at the moment. I have had a rotten cold since Christmas and it has left me with a bad cough so I can't visit because his defences will obviously be low. I have decided though that sitting at home and worrying is not doing me any good and we all know what the best tonic to that is don't we!!!
I have missed my DT posts for this week but hopefully will be back in full swing for the next challenges. Thank you all once again for your understanding.

Anyway on to my card. I have titled this little chappie "Your having a Giraffe" because that is what my daughter and friends are always saying and it reminds me of them every time I look at him. (I think he looks like a he).

The image is from Teddy Bo & Co and is called Teddy Bo Bea and this particular image is called What a Jolly Bow.  I have coloured the image with Fkeximarkers. (One of my New Year Resolutions is to note down the colours I use so that I can add the info to my posts). The papers are from Sassy Designs

I have used a doily from my own stash. The ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop
The butterfly is from Memory box which is available from many on line stores.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamp. Love these, I find them so useful.

I am entering this card into the following challenges

Papertake Weekly - Happy New
Totally Gorgeous - Anything goes with Ribbon
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Sarah Hurley Challenge -  Celebrate
The Pink Elephant - Celebrate
Crafts 4 Eternity - use something new
Digi Designs - something new

Cute card Thursday - Beat the blues

That's all folks. Lovely being back and hope to see you all again very soon.
Have fun.

My favourite five from 2012

Hello my blogger friends.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to you all.
I have been absent from the blogging world for a while due to my Dads health and all the worrying but I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms and just had to share a post with you all.

Debby is challenging us to enter out top 5 favourite makes of 2012 so here are mine. Very difficult challenge I must say as I could have had 10 favourites.

If you would like information about the cards below - click in the cards title to take you to the relevant post.

I really hope to be back very soon. I want to thank all of you for your good wishes over the past few weeks and for all my Design Teams for their understanding. You are very special people and I am so glad to have found you all.

Love and Hugs

A message to my blogger friends.

Good evening friends.
Hope you are all well and are ready for the Festive Season.

I am nowhere near ready for Christmas this year because unfortunately my dad is still very poorly. The pancreatitus  has taken its toll on him and has resulted in him having a cyst on his pancreas. He is not able to eat and has lost 3 stone in weight. He is needing an operation and has been told by his doctor to have a high protein diet to try and build him up for the op, but it is very difficult when he can't face food. I have got him today some very high protein drinks which are usually used by athletes. He has managed to finish one today so hopefully he will be able to manage 2 tomorrow.  I just hope and pray that it is not long until his operation and he can then start his recovery.

It seems I have been absent from the blog world for a while and don't know when I will next post a card. I still love to visit your blogs and even if I don't do much commenting you are not forgotten. I just can't concentrate on anything at the moment other my Mum and Dad.

Love and big Hugs to you all for a Wonderful Christmas and Here's to a Very Happy New Year.

Walking Snowmen

Good Morning friends.
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I had a lovely day yesterday.
I belong to Scunthorpe's Choral Society and we took part in the Rotary clubs Festival of Trees. Over 80 specially decorated trees and wreaths formed a community celebration of Lindsay Lodge Hospice. The Choral society sang our little hearts out for an hour which really got me in the Christmas spirit. For anyone who lives near Scunthorpe, we have a concert on the 16th December at Scunthorpes Baths Hall. We are also singing with the very talented Co-Operative Junior Choir and  the wonderful East Yorkshire Motor Services Brass Band. An extremely enjoyable evening.

Today sees a new and final challenge for 2012 over at Dream Valley. The challenge has been sponsored by not one but four wonderful stores.  The challenge is open for a month to give us time to recharge our batteries ready for 2013 challenges.

I have used a digi image from Crafty Ribbons called "Walking Snowmen". I have added colour to the image with Pro Markers.

The backing papers are from Pink Petticoat and I have the wonderful Jules over at Always with a heart to thank for the idea of over printing the paper with two designs. You must visit Jules blog - her cards are wonderful.

The gorgeous die is Frostyville border by Memory box and is available from many on line stores.

The sentiment is die cut from some backing paper also from the Crafty Ribbon store. I have added Diamond
sparkles fore the snow effect.

Snow Queen

Good morning friends.
Hope you are all well. Not many more sleeps now until the jolly little chap appears and hope you are in a better place than myself. The only Christmas cards I have made are the ones for my DT blogs!! Me thinks that time is running out for me. Guess they will have to be CAS!!!

At 9am today there is a new challenge over at Diva's by Design.  The theme is "Let it Snow". The snow can be on your stamp, embellishments or snow effect. The challenge has been sponsored by Joanna Sheen. It would be lovely to see you there and I am sure the DT members would love a visit.

I have used the lovely Snow Queen from LOTV.  I am not entirely happy with the quality of the picture as I took it in the evening, so not enough light.

I have coloured her in with Copic Markers and added glamour dust to the snow. The papers are from Nitwit collections called Merry and Bright Too.

The Ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop

The die is Frostyville border from Memory Box which is available from many on-line stores.
The flowers are from WOC.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

Patchwork Bunch of Balloons

Morning friends.
It's only a week, but it seems an age since I posted a card. Hope you had a lovely week and are enjoying the weekend.

I had a wonderful day on Tuesday when 3 friends and myself went for a spa day to Centreparcs.  Unbeknown to me, Carol upgraded us, so on arrival, we had a glass of champagne followed by a light breakfast and coffee. We then spent an extremely relaxing time in the many spa rooms before lunch and more champagne. The afternoon was just as relaxing. I apologise to all who were enjoying a relaxing spa day because we did not seem to see all the signs outside the spa rooms which said Shhhh!!!  Lots of talking and laughing was just what the Dr ordered.  To just relax totally is something that doesn't  happen often enough so I will endeavour to go again in the near future.

My card today I made for a friend who's partner is 60 today. Happy Birthday Dave.
I have used a LOTV image called Patchwork Bunch of Balloons.

The card blank is from Craftwork Cards and the papers are from Nitwit Collections. I have backe the image onto a  new favourite which is Kraft card.

I have coloured the image with Pro Markers and Flexi Markers.

The clouds are from a Memory Box die. The ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.
