A New Challenge at Diva's

Hi blogger friends.
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Diva's by Design and we have a colour challenge for you.  We would love to see your designs using Blue, Brown and Cream. The challenge has been sponsored by Live and Love Crafts. There is some lovely inspiration over at Diva's and it would be lovely to see you over there.

It has been a busy week travelling to Hull to see Dad. His operation went well but he is still very poorly. They have decided that he is going to have a feeding tube from tomorrow because he just can't eat and he really can't afford to lose any more weight. Here's hoping that the tube makes a difference.

Did you all enjoy the snow. I must say for the first time in years I loved it. We went to our daughters in Dewsbury. It was lovely getting together for one or two drinks (I never was good at maths)!!! We got home about 1am and went out onto the fields at the back of her house to take the dog for a walk. We all had such a laugh having a snowball fight. I was wet through when I got back to Kayleighs but it was so worth it - just what the doctor ordered.

For Diva's challenge I have used a Bugaboo digi - Gus's Birthday- Recount

I coloured Gus using Flexi Markers.
The papers are from Pink Petticoat. I printed a plain sheet of the blue paper and then printed it again with the brown flowers. I repeated the process with the stripes and checks.

The bow is by Memory Box and the Fishtail flags are by Die-namics. The butterfly and gems are from my own stash.

a big hug to you all

Hi friends.
I just wanted to let you all know that my dad went for his appointment with the specialist yesterday (at long last) and I am very pleased to say that they kept him in and are operating this afternoon. He was so scared that they were going to send him back home which would have been such a set back for him , but hey, that didn't happen. He has lost so much weight because the only thing that he has been able to tolerate for 3 months is Fortisip. I am keeping my legs, fingers, eyes crossed for a successful op and, although it will be a long time, a recovery so that he can at least be able to potter about in his garden when it is warmer, which is his pride and joy.
I wanted to update you because you have all been so kind leaving such wonderful comments. I will keep you updated. Sending a big hug to you all.
Love Sharon. x

A new Challenge at Songbird

Good Morning
Hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend.
Today we have a new challenge over at Songbird. We have been sponsored by Di's Digis and the theme is Baby Mine. Please have a wander over there to see the DT cards - it would be lovely if you joined in this challenge.

I have used an image from Pink Gem Designs called Bathtime Baby. Such a cutie.

I have coloured the image with Copic Markers and the papers are from Nitwit Collections. I am in the process of sorting out all my papers. I am a devil for taking papers out of folders and not putting them back before picking out more papers. I then have no idea which papers belong to which folder. I am using the print option in Photoscape to copy multiple patterns onto one sheet so that I can see at a glance which paper belongs in which folder. So simple don't know why I haven't done it before. I will then be able to let you know the papers I have used. Simples!!!

The circle die is from Memory Box. The ribbon from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.

The flowers are from my own stash and the sentiments are from LOTV. I have added Diamond Sparkles to the bubbles.
Thank you to my followers old and new. I love reading your comments and really appreciate that you spend the time visiting.
I am entering this card into the following challenges

Bearly Mine - Anything goes
Clear it out challenge - Circles (die) buttons - stash
Scrappy Frog - Try something new (digi image)
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything goes
Paper Pretties - Ribbon
Challenges 4 Everybody - anything goes
Make it Monday - anything goes

See you soon.

Catherine

Good morning friends.

Hope you are all well and enjoying crafting whilst I am at work. Boo Hoo. Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Dream Valley. We are being sponsored by Robyns Fetish who will very kindly give away 5 Digi stamps to the winner. The theme is girls, girls, girls - it would be lovely to see you there.

Before I get onto my card has anyone seen Les Miserable yet. I have loved Les Mis for 25 yrs. I first saw it in London and have got the 10th and 25th anniversary performances.  I was very dubious about going to see the film because of my passion for the show but after watching the documentary about it decided I would go.
It was actually the second time I watched the film yesterday and yet again I cried all the way through.  Absolutely stunning performances from the cast and they so deserve to wipe the board at the Oscars. It was so so hard not to burst out into song but I don't think it would have gone down well.

Anyway, on to my card. I have used a Robyns Fetish image called Catherine. Isn't she sweet.

I have coloured the image with Copic Markers and paper pieced the outfit with papers from Pink Petticoat. (Backing papers also from Pink Petticoat).

The Ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.  The flower die and the heart dies are by Memory box.

The flowers are from WOC. The doily, gems and button are from my own stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges

613 Avenue create - use kraft card
Pile it on - Have a heart
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything goes
Crafting by Designs -   Alcohol Marker challenge plus hearts
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything goes

That's all for today. I will be back tomorrow with another DT post but till then, enjoy the rest of your day. Happy Crafting.

Bad Hair Day

Good Afternoon friends.
Hope you are all well and not snowed in. Actually that's not a bad idea. Think of all the crafting we could do. I have already broken my new years resolution which is to use all my crafty products and not buy anything new. I have had to order some ink for my printer and I couldn't resist 2 digi stamps last night from Mo Manning. My stash of flowers is also dwindling very fast so may have to have a sneeky peek at WOC. Gosh don't we have such an expensive hobby!!!

My card today is the first of my buys from Mo Manning and is called Bad Hair Day. Such a cutie.

The card blank is from Craftwork Cards and the papers are from Nitwit collections.  I have used one iof my favourite items at the moment, which is Kraft Card. I am finding that it goes with most colours and love the effect of it.

The paper doily is from my stash as are the gems.

The ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop and the flowers are from WOC.

I am going to spend the evening blog hopping so I will be dropping by to say hello later on.
As Miranda's mum says "Such Fun".

I have a question

Could anyone please help me. I tried to follow a blog tonight and I could not add it to my reading list as it said I had reached the maximum 300 followers. Would really appreciate it if anyone has any advice.
Thanks

Your having a Giraffe

Good afternoon friends. Hope you are all well.

I have missed you all and it is so good to be posting a card. This little cutie is one I made before Christmas bit didn't get round to posting. I know that I am turning a corner and feel ready to craft again because when I visit all your lovely blogs I am wanting to get into my craft room and do a spot of colouring.
Dad is still waiting for his operation and is still not able to eat but the doctor doesn't seem to concerned about that as long as he is drinking his high protein drinks. I am missing my parents so much at the moment. I have had a rotten cold since Christmas and it has left me with a bad cough so I can't visit because his defences will obviously be low. I have decided though that sitting at home and worrying is not doing me any good and we all know what the best tonic to that is don't we!!!
I have missed my DT posts for this week but hopefully will be back in full swing for the next challenges. Thank you all once again for your understanding.

Anyway on to my card. I have titled this little chappie "Your having a Giraffe" because that is what my daughter and friends are always saying and it reminds me of them every time I look at him. (I think he looks like a he).

The image is from Teddy Bo & Co and is called Teddy Bo Bea and this particular image is called What a Jolly Bow.  I have coloured the image with Fkeximarkers. (One of my New Year Resolutions is to note down the colours I use so that I can add the info to my posts). The papers are from Sassy Designs

I have used a doily from my own stash. The ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop
The butterfly is from Memory box which is available from many on line stores.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamp. Love these, I find them so useful.

I am entering this card into the following challenges

Papertake Weekly - Happy New
Totally Gorgeous - Anything goes with Ribbon
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes
Sarah Hurley Challenge -  Celebrate
The Pink Elephant - Celebrate
Crafts 4 Eternity - use something new
Digi Designs - something new
Charisma cards - Birthday
Cute card Thursday - Beat the blues

That's all folks. Lovely being back and hope to see you all again very soon.
Have fun.

My favourite five from 2012

Hello my blogger friends.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to you all.
I have been absent from the blogging world for a while due to my Dads health and all the worrying but I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms and just had to share a post with you all.

Debby is challenging us to enter out top 5 favourite makes of 2012 so here are mine. Very difficult challenge I must say as I could have had 10 favourites.

If you would like information about the cards below - click in the cards title to take you to the relevant post.

I really hope to be back very soon. I want to thank all of you for your good wishes over the past few weeks and for all my Design Teams for their understanding. You are very special people and I am so glad to have found you all.

Love and Hugs
Sharon. x
