Hope you are all well and are ready for the Festive Season.
I am nowhere near ready for Christmas this year because unfortunately my dad is still very poorly. The pancreatitus has taken its toll on him and has resulted in him having a cyst on his pancreas. He is not able to eat and has lost 3 stone in weight. He is needing an operation and has been told by his doctor to have a high protein diet to try and build him up for the op, but it is very difficult when he can't face food. I have got him today some very high protein drinks which are usually used by athletes. He has managed to finish one today so hopefully he will be able to manage 2 tomorrow. I just hope and pray that it is not long until his operation and he can then start his recovery.
It seems I have been absent from the blog world for a while and don't know when I will next post a card. I still love to visit your blogs and even if I don't do much commenting you are not forgotten. I just can't concentrate on anything at the moment other my Mum and Dad.
Love and big Hugs to you all for a Wonderful Christmas and Here's to a Very Happy New Year.

Hello Sharon,
I'm so sorry to hear that your Dad is so poorly. I hope his operation comes soon and that he can start to improve quickly.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2013.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad Sharon. When I was very ill and severely underweight, I was put on a nutritional milkshake-style drink called Fortisip - it is high energy and fortified with loads of vitamins and minerals, so really good for weight gain/stabilisation when you can't eat - there's also a juice drink version of it called Fortijuice if he can't stomach the other one, it might be worth your while asking your doctor or pharmacist about it - I got all mine from the hospital I was in, so I'm not sure if they're prescription only or not - but they're very good in my opinion.
I really hope his operation comes soon, this can't be an easy time at all for you - I'll say a prayer for you.

Sharon, I wish him well and will pray for your family. Hugs to you! Merry Christmas.
Hi Sharon
I'm really sorry to hear how ill your dad is. I'm in a very similar position with my Mother-In-Law. She was diagnosed with advanced cancer of the Lung lining 14 months ago. The cancer cannot be operated on and is Chemo controlled. At the moment she is eating little, has lost 2 stone so she is down to 8st 11lb. She is sleeping lots and is in quite a bit of pain. I spent last weekend defrosting her freezer, stripping her bed, putting up her Christmas tree because I know how stressed she has been not being able to do this herself. She cannot walk very far through breathlessness, pain and weakness. But her will is astonishing and her positivity is keeping her going.
I haven't been blogging at all lately. Just haven't got the time to be creative with everything that is going on at the moment but I have been looking round the blogs but not commenting much.
Anyway, hope your Dad's operation is soon so that he can start recovering.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad Sharon. It is very difficult to watch our parents health decline & the rolls reverse as we become the caregivers! I'm in that situation with my Mom at the moment. She has Alzheimer's & end stage renal failure. I hope your Dad's surgery goes well & he is feeling better soon. Will keep you in my thoughts.
Hugs, Renee

Hi Sharon, just wanted to pop over and wish you a very Happy New Year. Hope your Dad is feeling a bit better and he's managed some of the drinks. Take care.
Hugs Sue W.
Thanks Sue.
Unfortunately he is no better, in fact, worse. He is in hospital at the moment and mum is staying today until she has got some answers from the specialist. He couldn't even take any of his drinks yesterday and they keep saying his illness is not an emergency. Every day he is getting weaker and I am so worried he will not have the strength to get through his operation which he still hasn't a date for. Trying to stay positive but very difficult.
I am really missing blogging but can't face making cards at the moment.
Thank you for your concern Sue.
Happy New Year.
Love Sharon. x
